Total time: 4 hrs 15 mins
Ingredients:
- 2x 6 ½ oz cans clams
- ¼ lb salt pork or
- Or ¼ lb bacon
- 1 onion – chopped
- 3-4 potatoes – pared & cubed
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 ¾ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- 2 cups half & half
- Or 2 cups milk
- 1 ½-2 tbsp cornstarch
Directions:
- Sauté pork/bacon and onion until golden brown;
- Drain excess fat
- Place clams in crock pot with pork/bacon along with all other ingredients except milk/half & half
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours
- Or low for 7-8 hours
- Add 1 cup milk/half & half and cornstarch one hour before serving
- Add remaining milk/half & half just serving
Variation:
Add cup of chopped celery, 1 clove garlic, 1 tbsp butter, one more can of clam, and 2-3 mashed potatoes.
